What makes Imaginative Traveller different? Nearly all of Imaginative Traveller’s guides are local, English speaking, high qualified and have an intimate knowledge of their homeland enabling them to unlock doors and give adventures that other travellers miss out on.

Roy Myhill, MD of Imaginative Traveller, says, “As well as adding new countries to our existing portfolio, we have expanded in the perennially popular destination of Egypt. With excellent current exchange rates and a short flight time, Egypt offers a variety of superb scenery, archaeological sites, culture, Nile cruises and Red Sea relaxation. The whole world will be looking to South Africa next summer, so we have expanded to the private reserves next to Kruger National Park. This offers more opportunities for varied and close-up encounters than in the main park itself, such as walking safaris and night safaris. The camp we use also offers the chance to overnight in a tree-house, which is set away from the main camp. You are dropped off after dinner and provided with a spotlight to watch the wildlife!

Finally trekking in Nepal has always been popular (pre Joanna Lumley), throughout the decades since the hippy sixties era as ‘The place’ to head to for travellers looking to chill out amongst the mountains and interact with the locals trekking through the hills.  A cheap destination once as well as the lure of Everest and other 8,000m Himalayan peaks. We offer Non-technical climbs for those looking to attain high altitudes in the mecca of the mountaineering world.

Imaginative Traveller urges travellers to remember that every destination that they visit is someone else’s home and has introduced some interesting sustainable projects this year to help benefit local communities.
