Friday, March 05, 2010

Adventure trips or small group holidays in India may have become more popular this year, following recent research by Skyscanner.

The flight comparison service revealed that Delhi saw the biggest rise in the number of people searching for flights from the UK to any destination this month, with it moving up to number 36 in the list of Top 50 Flight Destinations since January.

Commenting on the figures, Barry Smith, the company's co-founder and development director, said: "Delhi was the biggest winner, rising twelve places in the Skyscanner Top 50."

Those visiting the city may want to head to the Red Fort, Jama Masjid or Qutb Mina, according to Lonely Planet.

In addition, Spain continued to have the highest proportion of cities in the rankings, while Faro in Portugal and Dalaman made the top ten.

Furthermore, Prague, Athens, Bodrum, Sharm El Sheikh and Krakow were also found to be some of the most searched-for holiday locations this month.
