Adventure travellers should not dismiss the appeal of the Adriatic island of Solta on Croatia's Dalmation coast simply because popular guide books do not afford it much coverage.
Simon Calder, from the Independent, said that many tourists stay in places such as Zagreb, Hvar or Brac which are better known and detailed extensively in popular travel guides.
However, adventure travellers will find Solta to be rich in culture and natural beauty and heading there now will give them the chance to see it before the inevitable influx of foreign investment changes it.
On a visit to Budapest adventure travellers can enjoy not only a beautiful city but one which is alive from dusk to dawn.
Karin Jones, from the Hungarian National Tourist Office, said the summer months are an especially good time to pay a visit to the Hungarian capital, as there is a packed calendar of events for people to enjoy.

Bulgaria offers adventure travellers a combination of culture, history and natural beauty, making it an ideal destination for a break.
Desislava Naydenova, from the press and cultural affairs department at the Bulgarian Embassy, said that the country is appealing as not only does it offer a wealth of things to see and do, it is also relatively cheap, meaning holidaymakers can enjoy a great deal without breaking the bank.
She recommended that visitors to Bulgaria do their upmost to explore its varied geography and the unique atmosphere and traditions to be found across the nation.
