Zoheir Garranah, the country's tourism minister, told Bloomberg that revenue in the sector had seen a 24 per cent increase in the first quarter of 2010.
Ms Hallak explained the attraction of the nation's sites.
She said: "The pyramids are timeless and will always attract visitors, both first-time and returning."
