Picos de Europa - Spain's first National Park - offers some of the finest, most dramatic mountain scenery in Spain. With lush valleys, deep rocky gorges, huge cave systems and cliffs that have long been a mecca for climbers, this area provides the perfect location for an activity holiday. For a number of years we have run group-based activity holidays with local activity guru Jim Thompson and his partner Pilar. On this flexible week you can choose from a daily menu and select your preferred activities.

Simply specify on booking the number of days on which you would like activities, following the activity table under Dates & Prices table. Upon arrival in Arenas de Cabrales, you will be asked to specify which activities you would like to take part in. Travel by private minibus. All activities are optional. No experience is needed (except valid driving licence required for unguided quad-biking and must be able to swim for canoeing and canyoning).
Trip Itinerary
- Day1 Start Arenas de Cabrales.
- Day2 Caving or horse-riding.
- Day3 Rock-climbing.
- Day4 Free day for a simple walk through the famous Cares Gorge (no cost and not included in activity options). Walking through the spectacular chasm takes 1-6 hours, depending how far you choose to go.
- Day5 Canyoning.
- Day6 Self-guided biking.
- Day7 Canoeing or quad-biking.
- Day8 End Arenas de Cabrales.
