 For sheer diversity, Morocco is the perfect destination, so close to Europe, yet so completely different. We explore the Imperial cities of Marrakech, Meknes and Fez, with crowded bazaars conjuring up flavours of Arabian Nights. Our journey takes us through contrasting mountain ranges to the south, where sand dunes and kasbahs are scattered among palm oases inhabited by friendly Berbers. Camel trekking in Morocco is a real highlight, taking us to the edge of the Sahara for a night at a Bedouin camp (or under the stars - your choice!).

We fit in a visit to Todra Gorge, to the beautiful 16th century kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, and we enjoy a village walk in a picturesque valley of the High Atlas. Complete the trip with a walk along the sandy beach of Essaouira and visit the souks for some last minute shopping.

  1. Day1 Start Casablanca.
  1. Day2 Visit Hassan II Mosque; to Rabat; visit old quarter; to Meknes.
  1. Day3 Explore the well-preserved Roman site of Volubilis and Meknes; to Fez.
  1. Day4 Guided tour of Fez, one of the world's finest Islamic cities.
  1. Day5 To Merzouga.
  1. Day6 Time to walk among the dunes; afternoon camel trek; camp in the desert.
  1. Day7 To Todra Gorge.
  1. Day8 Optional morning walk and palmery tour around gorge in the afternoon.
  1. Day9 Drive along the 'Route of a Thousand Kasbahs' to Telouet, via the famous Kasbah Ait Benhaddou.
  1. Day10 Full day walking in the High Atlas.
  1. Day11 Over High Atlas to Essaouira.
  1. Day12 Free day in Essaouira to explore the old town and beach.
  1. Day13 To Marrakech, the 'Pink City; guided tour.
  1. Day14 Free day in Marrakech to enjoy the souks, gardens and vibrant Djemaa el Fna, the great outdoor market.
  1. Day15 End Marrakech.
